In the early Taisho period, the first Tosai moved to Gojozaka and started his pottery business.
The current Tosai III took the name in 1995.
1951 Born in Kiyomizu, Kyoto as the eldest son of the second Tosai
1970- Trained at the Gojozaka Kyodo Kiln (climbing kiln) for 10 years from 1970
1985 Built the Garyu Kiln (climbing kiln) in Mizuho-cho, Kyoto
1995 Succeeded to the name of the third Tosai
2004 Built the Garyu Kiln (climbing kiln/hole kiln) in Kiyota, Hino-cho, Shiga
